Certain Foods & Spices Could Interfere with Hair Growth

Did you know that certain teas, spices, and foods could interfere with hair growth by blocking heme-iron absorption? We thought we’d share this information with you because so many are suffering from low iron levels which could cause hair loss. Here’s what you need to know:

Pay attention to the teas and spices you use.  Black tea for example contains the highest sources of tannins which can reduce iron intake by as much as 50%. Spices and foods such as chilli powder, turmeric, coriander, nuts, and red beans also contain tannins. However, placing lemon juice in teas or taking vitamin C supplements with these foods combats their inhibiting effects.
